This week GNU Guix has reached its first stable 1.0 release! Guix is a package manager that you can use on your own distribution, or you can use the full system configuration as a complete distribution of the GNU operating system! Among other incredible features include the GNU Shepherd PID-1 and service manager, containerization, functionally-oriented packages, rollbacks, incremental upgrades, declarative configuration, bootstrappability, reproducibility, and freedom!
I believe it is flat out wrong for any app developers to outright block *any* instance in the fediverse from accessing the application. Gabs is no exception. What is even worse is that Gabs has not even switched to the new system yet! Even if it is a good idea to block Gab, it is *not* an app developer's place to do such a thing on a free platform like Mastodon. What kind of precedence does this set? What about new projects that come into the equation in the future?
Developers. Undo the blocks!
@masterofthetiger I see you can use ESC in some situations though.
One thing #Telephant needs is keyboard shortcuts.
Here it is, the first release candidate of Telephant 0.1:
Static binaries for Linux & Windows are ready to download! Arch users can simply install "telephant-git" from the AUR.
Packages for other Linux distros and a macOS binary will follow soon!

Demanding that app devs who have never put themselves forward as political in any way 'take sides' in the current instance blocks debate on Mastodon is not fair.
Putting yourself forward as a dev and having a public account does not give the right to all masto users to demand: 'What side are you going to take?'
If they want to get involved that is their choice but demanding to know what they are going to do is a step too far.
The pressure put on individuals in this situation is immense.
This whole concerted effort to block Gab from Mastodon is interesting, because the people who are doing it like to talk about tolerance.
These are the same people who will defend Palestine. Do they know that Mein Kampf is a popular book in the Middle East?
Suppressing belief systems doesn't work. It has never worked. Pushing them down only make them push back harder. Putting a lid on the pot only makes it boil over quicker. History teaches us this a million times over.
Use this word today:

The Social Network Gab is Switching to Mastodon?
Okay, everybody. I'm standing on a street corner in cyberspace holding a virtual tin cup...
1/ So, the Supreme Court has decided, for the time being, that it’s okay to kill an unborn human being based on sex, race, or disability, while after birth, killing someone based on sex, race, or disability will bring hate crime charges in addition to the standard murder charges.
I am not ashamed of the gospel, nor am I afraid of sharing it.
