My laptop which I bought last July is falling apart, and it wasn't cheap. One of my hinges is garbage, and one corner of the screen is cracked. It is becoming barely usable. Remind me not to buy from Dell again. Or anything made of plastic!

This week GNU Guix has reached its first stable 1.0 release! Guix is a package manager that you can use on your own distribution, or you can use the full system configuration as a complete distribution of the GNU operating system! Among other incredible features include the GNU Shepherd PID-1 and service manager, containerization, functionally-oriented packages, rollbacks, incremental upgrades, declarative configuration, bootstrappability, reproducibility, and freedom!

There needs to be a fediverse project which works like Goodreads.

I believe it is flat out wrong for any app developers to outright block *any* instance in the fediverse from accessing the application. Gabs is no exception. What is even worse is that Gabs has not even switched to the new system yet! Even if it is a good idea to block Gab, it is *not* an app developer's place to do such a thing on a free platform like Mastodon. What kind of precedence does this set? This whole concerted effort to block Gab from Mastodon is interesting, because the people who are doing it like to talk about tolerance.

These are the same people who will defend Palestine. Do they know that Mein Kampf is a popular book in the Middle East?

Suppressing belief systems doesn't work. It has never worked. Pushing them down only make them push back harder. Putting a lid on the pot only makes it boil over quicker. History teaches us this a million times over.

Use this word today:
